Municipal Acquisitions is a private real estate investment firm based in Washington, DC. With over $700 million in our current portfolio, we are an established and reliable investor with a demonstrated record of successfully closing transactions that meet our programmatic parameters. To date, more than sixty of the world’s most respected insurance companies, pension and retirement funds, mutual funds, and family offices have co-invested in our transactions.
With our singular focus on public sector real estate transactions, we are very different from any other investment firm in the market. Our seasoned professionals are experts in sourcing, analyzing, structuring, and closing real estate investments with public sector entities. It is, however, our ability to understand and develop creative solutions to the financial accounting, rating agency, statutory/regulatory, and of course political issues that are unique to our market that truly sets us apart.
Municipal Acquisitions is proud to partner with a variety of organizations and institutions in order to support both our local and national communities. Since our inception, we have supported a number of non-profit institutions with a particular focus on education and children’s cancer research and care.
In 2014, Municipal Acquisitions joined the National Association of College and Business Officers (NACUBO), a professional organization focused on providing the resources necessary for higher education institutions to pursue and achieve their missions.
Since 2017, we have been a corporate sponsor of Chance for Life (CFL), an annual fundraising event that raises money to fund research for treatments of pediatric cancer. The resultant clinical trials have led to promising discoveries that could change the lives of many children and families confronted with this disease.
In 2018, Municipal Acquisitions sponsored Johns Hopkins University’s Student Startup Challenge, an event that gives young entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of professionals, with the opportunity to win seed money. The event is almost completely student-led and has provided a way for budding entrepreneurs to receive valuable feedback and potentially be awarded funding to kickstart their business development. In 2020, we made a long-term commitment to the event and became the event’s official name sponsor, which is now called the Municipal Acquisitions’ Student Startup Challenge.
In 2020, Municipal Acquisitions became a corporate member of America’s Essential Hospitals (AEH), an industry trade group that works on behalf of their more than 300 member hospitals and health systems to guarantee high-quality care for all. Through our partnership with AEH, we’ve been able to have meaningful conversations with the leadership of dozens of hospitals and share the ways we can work together to provide them substantial, long-term economic savings.
